WE LOVE CHERRIES!

For the last 90 plus years, the Olmstead family has been growing fruit in the fertile Yakima Valley of Washington state.  Today we farm over 120 acres of cherry orchard that has been hand selected to provide the best possible location for fertile soil and protection from severe weather.  Bing and Rainier cherries are our specialty, and the Olmsteads are passionate about sharing them with you.

Whether you are looking to buy fresh cherries direct from our orchards, establish a business relationship, or simply learn more about cherries and our history, we have what you are looking for at Olmstead Orchards.

The 2011 crop of sweet juicy Olmstead cherries should hit stores in late June

WEATHER

We take great measures to properly care for our trees, but much of the success of our crops is in Mother Nature's hands. All of our hard work in pruning, irrigating, fertilizing, and spraying to protect our precious crop can be negated by freezing temperatures, high winds, excessive rain, or large hail at the wrong time.  This spring has been very cold and wet with some frost damage.  But it was not devastating and the cherries look to be beautiful and tasty this year!  We are working hard to get ready for harvest in late June!
